    Quick, Easy, Not expensive

Posted by Brad Wilson on 18th Mar 2018

I have the skill and the know how to make these cables but not all of the tools or time. It was nice to be able to find the EXACT connectors on either end and not need a ton of adapters. The price was better than expected and it arrived before estimated. Will definitely keep you guys on my short list.

RP-SMA male to N-Type male Cable

Antenna Cable with RP-SMA male connector on one end and an N-male connector on the other.

  • We stock many more RP-SMA-male to N-male cable options.
  • This cable is rated for outdoor use and is also suitable for indoor use.
  • See our mounts for antennas with N-female connectors.
  • The length refers to the cable size between the connectors (not including the connectors).
  • Allows interconnection of RP-SMA female and N-female interfaces: Antennas, antenna cables, and wireless devices.
  • For coaxial extension (for better antenna positioning), coaxial interface conversion, and coax retrofit applications.
  • Data Alliance's high-quality soldered terminations of Type-N and RP-SMA connectors with soldering provide a low-loss connection with discontinuities kept to a minimum.

The type of coaxial cable (thickness of cable) is 200-series. Equivalent to LMR-200, it has much lower attenuation (signal loss) than LMR-100 and RG58.

  • The cables are rated for outdoor use and are also suitable for indoor use.
  • The double-shielding of both 200-series enables low signal loss. This is a significant factor in the cable's higher quality, which translates into lower loss and better performance.
  • Flexible/easily bendable
  • Black PVC jacket

Low-loss, double-shielded LMR-200 compared to RG-58 single-shielded coaxial cable

The temperature range for operational use of this 200-series coax and the cable assembly, is: -31 F ~ +203 F (-35 C ~ +95 C)

Type-N male connector: Weatherproof nickel-plated brass. Materials composition.

N-male Connector Characteristics and Details: Durable, weatherproof connection

  • The N-male connector has an interior rubber O-ring, which provides a water-tight seal.
  • Nickel-plated brass body for enhanced corrosion resistance: Nickel plating is the most weather-resistant, corrosion-resistant metal plating.
  • Our N connectors provide a consistent performance from 900MHz to 12.5 GHz.
  • The N-male connector is knurled.
  • N-Female diameter is 0.620 inches (1.57 cm). N-male inside diameter is 0.620-inch (1.57 cm)
  • N-type connectors are the largest RF connector types, usually found on large antennas, especially for outdoor use.
  • Our N-Type connectors feature threaded coupling mechanisms and are fully interchangeable with N-Type connectors made to the MIL-C-39012 specification. These connectors are used in all systems with critical RF and mechanical performance.

N materials composition:

  • Connector Body: Nickel-Plated Brass: The most corrosion-resistant plated brass alloys (better than gold-plated).
  • Center Contact: Beryllium Copper, Gold Plated
  • Crimp Ferrule: Copper, Nickel Plated
  • Insulators: PTFE
  • Precision machined for low loss in ISO 9001 facilities
