Cables and Connectors for fiberglass LoRa Antennas

Fiberglass antennas have an female N-type connector - a large and rugged 50-Ohm radio frequency connector. LoRa gateways typically carry either an SMA or N-type connector.

N-type connectors are larger and more rugged radio frequency connectors that can withstand harsh outdoor conditions. N connectors can also be mounted securely with an N connector antenna cable run to the attached LoRa gateway.

Low loss antenna cable will provide minimum attenuation of received LoRa signals. An LMR 200 analog is recommended as the antenna cable for these antennas as it is double-shielded (aluminum foil and copper braiding), highly flexible, and waterproof. Data Alliance provides this low loss antenna cables in the following compatible assemblies:

  • LoRa gateways that carry an SMA connector can be attached to this antenna using N male connector to SMA male connector cable with LMR 200
  • LoRa gateways that carry an RP-SMA connector can be attached to this antenna using an N male connector to RP-SMA male connector cable with LMR 200.
  • LoRa gateways that carry an N-type connector can be attached to this antenna using N male connector to N male connector cable with LMR 200
