L-Mount for Antennas

If you do not choose the "kit option" above, you get just the L-mount itself without the U-bolts, screws and pegs.

The two versions are based on the type of antenna connector:

  • Version for N-female connector is SKU MTL16
  • Version for RP-SMA-female or SMA-female is SKU MTL16R
  • Optional stainless steel U-BOLTS can be used to secure the mount to a pole up to to 1.57-inch (40mm) outer diameter, or use the set-screws kit to secure the mount to a wall: Choose in the options above.
  • If you need a mount and/or U-bolts that fit a larger pole, see our larger L mounts: SKUs MTL19 and MTL14, and larger U-bolt set: SKU UBOLTS19: These larger mounts and U-bolts fit poles up to 1.97 inches (50mm) in diameter).

The antenna connector fits perfectly in the hole on the shelf, so that you can secure the antenna with the bulkhead nut of the N-female or RP-SMA (or SMA) female connector:

N-female version: IMPORTANT NOTE: The hole is made for an N-female connector that has two "flat" sides: You can see in the photo that two of the sides have a flat element, to keep the connector from turning. If the N-female is perfectly round, it will not fit. The option for securing the antenna works for antennas that have have either an N-female or N-male connector: If the antenna has an N-male, you mount the N-female cable with bulkhead on this mount, and then screw the antenna onto the N-female to secure it.

RP-SMA / SMA-female version: The option for securing the antenna works for antennas that have have either an RP-SMA-male or RP-SMA-female connector, as well as for antennas with SMA-male or SMA-female connector: If the antenna has an male connector, you mount the RP-SMA-cable with female / bulkhead or SMA-cable with female / bulkhead on this mount, and then screw the antenna onto the female connector to secure it.

Of course, this mount can be used for other applications that do not involve an N-connector, RP-SMA or SMA connector.

Can be mounted vertically or horizontally. Stainless steel mounting bracket. SEE ALSO our OTHER L-MOUNTS.

Optional stainless steel U-BOLTS can be used to secure the mount to a pole up to to 1.57-inch (40mm) outer diameter, or use the set-screws kit to secure the mount to a wall: Choose in the options above.

If you need a mount and/or U-bolts that fit a larger pole, see our larger L mounts: SKUs MTL19 and MTL14, and larger U-bolt set: SKU UBOLTS19: These larger mounts and U-bolts fit poles up to 1.97 inches (50mm) in diameter).

The optional U-Bolt kit includes:

  • U-bolts with threaded ends (2 U-bolts)
  • M6 nuts (qty 4)
  • Stainless Setscrews M4 and Pegs 1/4" X 1" (qty 4 each)
  • Spring Washers 11mm (qty 4)

The part# of the compatible U-bolt set is UBOLTS16.

U-Bolts for L-Mounts: U-Bolts are U shaped threaded metal bolts that are used to bolt the L-bracket/mount to a pole. There are different types of designs of the U-bolts with the most popular being the smooth curved and angled bolts for box pipe and cylindrical poles. The way they are used is by clamping antennas into a pole and then tightening a grip using nuts around the threaded end of the bolt to make for a tight grip on the pole. U-Bolts also come in different sizes to fit different diameters of poles that you may have.

Mounting Screws with Plastic Pegs can be used to Wall-Mount the L-bracket.
The L mount comes with a set of holes on one side so that you can attach the mount onto a wall using screws with plastic screw-pegs and washers, for ensuring that the mount has a tight grip on the wall.

L-Mount Benefits

  1. Enables placement of the antenna as high as possible, to avoid obstructions, which improves the range of sending and receiving signals.
  2. Enables you to change the position of the antenna so that you can receive stronger multidirectional and unidirectional signals, which could get you better pictures and sometimes more channels.
