N-female Connector Characteristics and Details: Durable, weatherproof connection

  • N connectors are nickel-plated brass, which is the best metal composition for rust-proofing/corrosion-proofing / weatherproofing for long-term outdoor exposure.
  • Our N connectors provide a consistent performance from 900MHz to 12.5 GHz.
  • The n-female adapter has a diameter of 0.620 inches (1.57 cm), while the N-Male adapter has an inside diameter of 0.620 inches (1.57 cm). These dimensions are standard for N-type connectors. N-connector gender is counter-intuitive: Click here for details.
  • N-type connectors are the most extensive RF connector types. They are usually found on large antennas, especially for outdoor use.
  • Our N-type adapters feature threaded coupling mechanisms and are fully interchangeable with N-type connectors made to the MIL-C-39012 specification. These connectors are used in all systems with critical RF and mechanical performance.

    • The gender refers to the pins inside--not the threads. RP-SMA male has threads on the inside.
    • As you might expect, the RP-SMA male has a socket inside rather than a pin because the RP stands for "Reverse Polarity." The socket/pin configuration is female when it appears male, and vice versa.

    Over-all, Data-Alliance provides the buyer a well made product at a fair price and this adapter is no exception. Priced fair enough you can get some extra ones for your tool box in case you decide to work on the project you have been kicking around over the winter months.
