Use this enclosure to mount your Alfa USB wireless adapter outdoors, where your reception will be much stronger Set it in line of sight if possible, or otherwise set it high: Use USB extension cables.
Manufactured to endure inclement outdoor environments, this housing has three small holes to fit a 9dBi antenna perfectly snugly, as well as a perfect notch for the USB cable to pass out of the enclosure. (the 9dBi antenna in the photo is sold separately: It is in the photo to show how it fits).
We have also included a hole for an antenna-cable, should you chose to use a larger antenna.
The inside dimensions will accommodate Alfa AWUS036H, Alfa AWUS036NH, AWUS036H-V5 and smaller USB WiFi adapters. The inside has room for the Alfa USB WiFi adapter, USB cable connector, a 9dBi antenna to attach (or an antenna cable)
The lid fits very tightly - waterproof-tight - and is held in place with 4 small screws, that are included.
Enclosure will mount flat on a wall or eave with stainless-steel wood screws, or with nuts-and-bolts, or Goop, or can be pole-mounted using long cable-ties that are 4.8mm in width.
The big hole is for the antenna only.
There is a small hole (it's actually a notch, when the lid is off) and this is just the right size for the thickness of the USB cable included with WiFi USB adapters. With the lid off you should be able to connect the USB to the device and then insert the cable into the notch. The cable should fit there tightly when the lid is put on. For extra weather protection Silicone Grease (SG) may be applied around both the USB cable and the antenna.
To waterproof any USB connections that might be exposed to the elements: Use silicone grease: Flood the USB cable connections with silicone grease to waterproof them. Can also use for RF (antenna cable) connections, for long-term protection against corrosion.
