    Great for FPV Quad Racing

I've seen many pilots install the antennae directly to the shell and the transmitter. A bad crash that separates the antenna will risk ripping up the transmitter as well. This acts as a buffer between the two. The one end screws into the frame perfectly so my external antenna will connect and protect!

SMA Male Right Angle To SMA Female Straight Cable

Antenna Cable / Adapter: SMA Male Right-Angle To SMA Female (regular straight type): Double-shielded cable

  • These cables are made with double-shielded LMR-100-equivalent coax
  • See 20-FT version of this cable, made with LMR-200 equivalent, which is double the diameter of LMR-100, with much lower signal loss and is also double-shielded.
  • See other length options of this cable: 20 inches to 5 feet.
  • One end has an SMA-male right-angle type connector, and the other has an SMA-female connector, the straight type with a bulkhead mount (nut and washer).
  • See other SMA Extension Cable options (Male to Female) with straight and right-angle connector variations.
  • Data Alliance's high-quality soldered terminations of SMA connectors provide a low-loss connection with discontinuities kept to a minimum.

SMA Connector Characteristics and Details

SMA gender difference between SMA cable connector types

SMA male R/A to SMA female straight (bkd): Comparison between LMR-100 ang RG-174 coaxial cable types differences.

The temperature range for operational use of this 100-series coax and the cable assembly is: -22 F ~ +185 F (-30 C ~ +85 C)

Compatibility with wireless standards & applications:

Our SMA extension cables' range of frequency band compatibility (from 0GHz to 18GHz), consistently low broadband VSWR, and impedance matching to 50 Ohm cables make them compatible and compliant with all the above applications.

RoHS 3 and REACH compliant: All of our antenna cables and RF adapters are lead-free and compliant with RoHS 3 and REACH.

SMA Male Right-Angle to SMA Female (Straight) Cables

These SMA connector cables have a cable assembly that includes one right-angle and one straight connector.

The SMA connector is one of the most widely used subminiature connectors. It is a 50-Ohm connector that has exemplary signal conduction and power handling. This threaded connector is made from machined brass and is rated for over 500 mating cycles.

  1. The male SMA connector has a body that carries a hex nut and internal threads for screw-coupling. Within the connector is a conducting pin surrounded by a PTFE insulator.
  2. The female SMA connector has a barrel-shaped body with externalized threads. You can identify the female SMA connector by its beryllium copper receptacle.

Right-angle radio frequency connectors - About

A right-angle radio frequency connector has a 90-degree bend in its body, meaning that the cable exits the connector at right angles to the connector's mating interface. These connectors have the same constituent parts as a straight connector, but require careful fabrication to create the internal 90-degree bend in the connector's inner conductor and dielectric. Flaws in the production of these connectors lead to the generation of passive intermodulation and reflections that reduce their performance.

Benefits of right-angle SMA connectors

Right-angle SMA connectors are high-utility radio components that broaden the range of SMA cable applications.

They have several advantages when compared to the straight-oriented connectors, which include:

The right angle protects the cable

Protection of the cable from the effects of bending. One of the most vulnerable points on a radio frequency cable is where it attaches to the connector. Bending or strain at this point impairs the transfer of current and data.

Right-angle connectors are durable

The right-angle improved the longevity and performance of the connecting cable because the is less bending at the point where the cable and connector meet. The reduced wear at this point improved the overall performance of the cable assembly.

Use this right-angle SMA connector to create neater cable arrays.

Right-angle geometry also makes the connector and cable more compact. The cable lies alongside the port rather than projecting straight out, which is useful in compact setups.

Connections are easier and more secure

The 90-degree shape affords a more accessible and secure connection that you can connect and disconnect with confidence.

LMR 100 for SMA cable assemblies

These SMA connector extension cables use a high-specification semi-rigid coaxial cable with a performance that exceeds LMR 100. This low-loss flexible coax makes these cables very versatile, with better performance than RG 174 which has an identical diameter. The low attenuation rate of these cables is due to double shielding with a layer of aluminum foil and the standard braid shield.

Applications of right-angled and straight SMA connector cables

The SMA connector is one of the most widely used radio frequency connectors and can be found in a wide range of devices and components. These right-angled to straight SMA connector cables can be used as extension cabled or antenna cables in the following applications:

  • Cellular networking
  • GPS
  • LoRaWAN
  • Wi-Fi
  • Ham radio
  • Satellite and radio astronomy
  • Testing and measurement
