Want to get the antennae from your pcie wifi card to stick above the case without untidy loops of wire? These did the job.

RP-SMA male Right Angle To RP-SMA female (straight) Cable

Antenna Cable: RP-SMA Female (regular straight type) to RP-SMA Male Right-Angle: Double-shielded cable.

  • See also this cable in lengths ranging from 20-inch to 5-feet
  • One end has an RP-SMA male right-angle connector, and the other has an RP-SMA female connector with a bulkhead nut and washer for mounting and weatherproofing.
  • The cable length stated in the length options is between the connectors.
  • Data Alliance's high-quality soldered terminations of RP-SMA connectors with soldering provide a low-loss connection with discontinuities kept to a minimum.

One end has an RP-SMA-male right-angle type connector, and the other end has an RP-SMA-female connector, regular straight type, and with a bulkhead mount (nut and washer).

The cable is not only double-shielded and low-loss, but it's also incredibly flexible and easily bendable. This feature ensures a hassle-free installation process, allowing you to set up your wireless system quickly and with ease. The cable type is equivalent to or better than LMR-100: Coax with black jacket has the same or better signal-loss-per-meter and flexibility as LMR-100 and less attenuation (signal loss) than RG174. The higher quality of this antenna cable coax translates into lower loss/better performance. The cable is equivalent to LMR-100 in thickness. This cable is rated for outdoor use and is also suitable for indoor use. Impedance is 50 Ohms.

The temperature range for operational use of this 100-series coax and the cable assembly is -22 F ~ +185 F (-30 C ~ +85 C)

RP-SMA female connector includes a bulkhead nut and washer for mounting & waterproofing:

  • You can use this hardware to mount the connector (and thus the cable) on the wall of a network enclosure (to weatherproof the cable connection) or mount the connector on a case, panel, or Printed Circuit Board (PCB).
  • Weatherproofing: Seal the hole where the female connector is mounted by placing an O-ring between the enclosure wall and the bulkhead nut & washer on the female connector.
  • The length of our standard RP-SMA-female connector (threaded part) is 3/8 inches. We have a longer option, 14.5mm, which is available. The longer 14.5mm option has an O-ring embedded in the flange to waterproof the port where the cable enters a network enclosure.
  • All our cables with SMA and RP-SMA female connectors have bulkhead mount hardware.

Rest assured, our RP-SMA male Right Angle To RP-SMA female (straight) Cable is compatible with a wide range of wireless standards & applications:

Our RP-SMA extension cables' range of frequency band compatibility (from 0 to 18GHz), consistently low broadband VSWR, and impedance matching to 50 Ohm antennas and cables make them suitable and compliant for all the above applications.

When it comes to safety, we've got you covered. Our antenna cables, including this RP-SMA male Right Angle To RP-SMA female (straight) Cable, are meticulously designed to comply with ROHS 3 and REACH restrictions. This means they are free from lead content, other heavy metals, and toxic materials, ensuring a safe and reliable product for your wireless needs.

Setting up our RP-SMA male Right Angle To RP-SMA female (straight) Cable is a breeze. The RP-SMA male connector is designed to fit the jack on most WiFi routers, while the RP-SMA female connector is compatible with the male connector on antennas with an RP-SMA male connector. This straightforward installation process allows you to position your antenna in the most suitable location for an optimal line of sight.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of dielectric material is used in the cable, and why is it chosen?
The dielectric material is FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene), chosen for its low dielectric constant, low loss, and excellent thermal stability, which minimizes signal loss and phase distortion.

How effective is the cable's shielding in reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI)?
The cable features dual shielding with an aluminum foil and tinned copper braid, providing over 95% coverage, which significantly reduces EMI and ensures signal integrity up to 18 GHz.

How does the cable's flexibility affect its installation in confined spaces?
The cable's flexibility allows for easy installation in tight or confined spaces without compromising the performance or causing significant signal degradation.

How does the right-angle male connector improve installation in certain scenarios?
The right-angle male connector is particularly useful in space-constrained installations where straight connectors might not fit, helping to prevent cable damage and maintain performance.

What are the potential failure modes for these cables, and how can they be prevented?
Potential failure modes include connector damage from improper mating, cable fatigue from excessive bending, and signal degradation from EMI. Preventive measures include proper handling, using strain relief, and ensuring adequate shielding.

How does the cable perform in high-vibration environments?
The cable's robust construction and secure connector design make it suitable for high-vibration environments such as automotive and aerospace applications, ensuring reliable performance.

Are there specific certifications that these cables meet, and why are they important?
These cables meet MIL-STD-202 and IEC 61169-47 standards, which ensure high reliability and performance under various environmental and mechanical stresses.

What is the purpose of the embedded O-ring in the connectors, and how does it enhance performance?
The embedded O-ring provides a waterproof seal at the connection point, enhancing the cable's resistance to moisture and environmental factors, making it ideal for outdoor and harsh environment applications.
