As client antenna: Connect to an access point in a certain direction

As access point antenna:

Compliant with 802.11b & 802.11g (North America, Europe, Australia). 2.4Ghz frequency band

Mounts directly onto RP-SMA(female) connector of access point, bridge, client, or booster

Easy to make weatherproof:

Magnetic Mount antenna base very firmly attaches to metal surface - at a height or position where it can pick up more access points. We recommend our steel window mount with suction cups: $8.99 (sold separately)
Just put some clear caulk or other sealer where the antenna meets the base

The end of the 1.5-meter pigtail-cable has an RP-SMA(male) connector. Cable is a low-loss, very flexible cable (loss-per-meter is equivalent to LMR100A). Most PCI wireless cards (for desktop PCs) have an RP-SMA female jack.

Provides signal to clients that are all in a certain direction (80-degree horizontal beamwidth)

COMPATIBILITY AND GENDER DETERMINATION

Connector on the base fits antennas that have a male RP-SMA (Reverse Polarity [RP] SMA) jack/connector.

RP-SMA male:

Connector on the pigtail fits items that have a female RP-SMA (Reverse Polarity [RP] SMA) jack/connector. RP-SMA = Reverse Polarity SMAMost PCI wireless cards have an RP-SMA(F) jack/connector..

GENDER DETERMINATION: Gender of RP-SMA is counter-intuitive in two ways:

1. The gender is referring to the pins inside--not the threads. RP-SMA male has threads on inside.

2. "RP" stands for reverse polarization - the pins are female when they appear to be male, and vice versa.
